Bhubaneswar, Nov 3: Vedanta Aluminium, the country’s leading aluminium producer, has strengthened its dedication to promoting quality education in rural Odisha through its flagship program, Project Vidya.
As part of this initiative, the company has provided
academic resources to over 600 students in classes 9 and 10 from government
schools in Lakhanpur block in Kalahandi, aimed at enhancing students’
conceptual understanding and exam preparedness.
The academic materials, published by the Odisha Secondary School Teachers’ Association (OSSTA), include both subjective and objective content aimed at strengthening conceptual clarity and problem-solving skills. These resources are tailored to help students prepare effectively for their upcoming board examinations.
Beneficiary schools include Banjari SSD Government High
School, Piplimal High School, Khairkuni High School, Kuraloi and Luabahal High
School, UGHS Jharpalam, and Government UGHS Chattabar. The initiative reflects
Vedanta’s broader commitment to community empowerment through education,
healthcare, infrastructure, and sustainable livelihoods.

Rajiv Kumar, CEO of Vedanta Aluminium, emphasized the
transformative power of education, stating, “Through Project Vidya, we aim to
equip students with the right learning tools and opportunities to help them
succeed and build a strong foundation for their future.”
Rajendra Prasad Sahu, Block Education Officer of Lakhanpur,
praised the initiative, noting its potential to boost academic confidence and
board exam preparedness among rural students.
Vedanta Aluminium continues to collaborate with local
authorities and stakeholders to ensure its social impact initiatives lead to
measurable progress. With a production of 2.42 million tonnes in FY25, the
company remains a leader in sustainable aluminium manufacturing and ranks
second globally in the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment 2024
for the aluminium industry.
