Bhubaneswar, Jan 28: Anil Agarwal, founder and chairman of Vedanta Resources Limited, heaped praise on Odisha Tuesday saying the state is the heaven for investments while speaking at the ongoing Utkarsh Odisha - Make In Odisha Business Conclave 2025.
Known professionally as the 'Metal King', Agarwal said: "In India, Odisha is the best and the most preferred place for investments. It's heaven for investors. The people and the environment of Odisha is quite unique."
Praising Odisha as the '2nd Australia', Agarwal said that the company intends to invest more in aluminium sector in future. "To provide opportunities to local youths is our primary objective," he added.
Notably, the Utkarsh Odisha Conclave was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar earlier in the day. The two-day conclave, which commenced Tuesday, will conclude Wednesday. Many industrialists as well as representatives of various industries from and outside India are participating in the event.
As per the report, foreign representatives of 16 countries, including USA, Germany, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Belarus and UK, will be in attendance at the conclave. As many as 15 special sessions have been organised for various sectors.
Besides Agarwal, several industrialists, including British steel magnate Lakshmi Niwas Mittal, Aditya Birla Group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla, JSW Group of companies Chairman and Managing Director Sajjan Jindal, Industrialist & Politician Naveen Jindal, Adani Ports and SEZ Limited (APSEZ) Managing Director Karan Adani and Tata Steel Global CEO and Managing Director TV Narendran, are reportedly in attendance at the Utkarsh Odisha Conclave.
