Berhampur, May 29: In a bizarre yet amusing incident, a stolen bike was mysteriously returned to its owner in Berhampur’s Lanjipalli area, accompanied by an unexpected apology letter from the thief.

The incident, which has left locals both surprised and amused, unfolded when a young man’s bike, stolen days ago from outside his house, reappeared at the exact spot where it had been taken.

The bike owner had previously lodged a complaint at Baidyanathpur Police Station, and CCTV footage had captured the theft. However, much to his astonishment, the missing bike was found early Wednesday morning, parked in the same location, with a handwritten note attached.

The letter, written in broken English, read: "Brother, I am sorry. My girlfriend had an accident last night. I had a financial problem and needed to rush. That’s why I took your bike. I didn’t mean to steal it, but I had no choice. Please forgive me, considering me as a younger brother."
