Talcher, Dec 3: Union Minister of Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday unveiled a lifesize statue of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati at his birthplace Gurujangha under Talcher block in Angul district today. 

He said Saraswatiji was a reverend personality of self-respect, struggle, social harmony, and conviction.

Pradhan said he was a follower of the Swamiji since childhood. He was inspired by his ideology. 

"Swamiji guided us on the problems and dangers of Odisha and was telling how the youth can solve them. Swamiji was advocating to create a sense of devotion among the masses for the service of the distressed people. He created the greatest example of social harmony in Odisha," Pradhan said.

The Union Minister highlighted how Swamiji worked and sacrificed his life for the welfare of the tribal and the distressed people in Kandhamal.
