Bhubaneswar, Mar 7: Senior BJP leader and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday called on the family members of late Ollywood actor Uttam Mohanty and expressed his condolences to them.

Pradhan went to the house of the deceased actor and met Mohanty's wife Aprajita, son Babusan, and daughter-in-law Trupti.

"I visited the residence of late Uttam Mohanty, a well-known and popular actor of Odisha, in Bhubaneswar and paid my tributes. I met Aparajita Apaa, Babusan and other family members. I had a family relationship with late Uttam Mohanty. He will remain in the hearts of Odia people for his life-long dedication and work towards the film industry. I pray for eternal peace of the departed soul," Pradhan wrote on his 'X' account.

Notably, Mohanty, an eminent Odia film actor, passed away in a private hospital in Gurugram recently. His body was cremated at Satynagar crematorium with full State honour. His contribution to the Odia film industry as an actor is immense. Many noted persons mourned his demise.
