Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Applauds Young Odia Writers For Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar Win

Bhubaneswar, Aug 16: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan extended heartfelt congratulations to young litterateurs Dileswar Rana and Sudhir Kumar Dhangadamajhi for being honoured with the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar 2025.
Pradhan lauded their contribution towards enriching Odia literature and wished them a bright future.
In a post on Twitter, the Minister praised their literary achievements and commended their role in enriching Odia literature.
"କେନ୍ଦ୍ର ସାହିତ୍ୟ ଏକାଡେମୀ ଯୁବ ପୁରସ୍କାରପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ତଥା ଯୁବ ସାହିତ୍ୟିକ ଡିଲେଶ୍ୱର ରଣା ଏବଂ ଯୁବ ଲେଖକ ସୁଧୀର କୁମାର ଧଙ୍ଗଡ଼ାମାଝୀଙ୍କୁ ଶୁଭେଚ୍ଛା । ଓଡ଼ିଶାର ସାହିତ୍ୟ ଜଗତକୁ ସୁସମୃଦ୍ଧ କରିବା ଦିଗରେ ଉଭୟଙ୍କ ଉଲ୍ଲେଖନୀୟ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ପ୍ରଶଂସନୀୟ । ଦୁଇ ଲେଖକଙ୍କ ଉଜ୍ଜ୍ୱଳ ଭବିଷ୍ୟତ କାମନା କରୁଛି ।"

The Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar is an annual literary award recognizing young Indian writers. It is given by the Sahitya Akademi to writers under 35 for their original works in any of the 24 Indian languages recognized by the Akademi. The award was instituted in 2011 and includes a cash prize of Rs 50,000, a plaque, and a citation.
Both Rana and Dhangadamajhi were selected for their impactful storytelling and dedication to preserving Odia culture through literature.
