Khordha, Aug 10: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan visited the revered Maa Bhagabati Temple in Banapur today and offered prayers to the presiding deity.

Accompanied by local MLA and Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, the minister paid homage at one of Odisha’s most prominent Shakti Peethas.

The temple, known for its historic and spiritual significance, draws thousands of devotees year-round, especially during Durga Puja when Maa Bhagabati is worshipped as Mahishamardini.

During his visit, Pradhan discussed temple development and preservation efforts with the priests and local officials.

The leaders also reviewed infrastructure around the temple premises and emphasised the importance of promoting religious tourism in the region.

The visit was marked by traditional rituals and a warm reception from local residents, who gathered to witness the minister’s arrival and offer their own prayers.
