Bhubaneswar/New Delhi, Apr 8: At the Odisha Investors Meet held in New Delhi, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan highlighted Odisha’s tremendous potential to become a major energy hub for the world.

The event witnessed groundbreaking agreements between the Government of Odisha and leading industry players in the energy sector. The Odisha government signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth nearly a staggering ₹1 lakh crore – ₹96,686 crore at the Odisha Investors Meet.

Notably, the partnership agreements included major players like the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) under the Central Government's Petroleum Ministry, alongside 13 other renowned companies. These MoUs span across industries including textiles, IT, logistics, and petrochemicals — promising robust growth and job creation in the state.

During his address, Union Minister Pradhan praised the collaborative efforts of the Union and Odisha governments under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision.

The Union Education Minister emphasised PM Modi’s unwavering commitment to realising Odisha’s potential, ensuring growth and development through cooperative initiatives. He described these investments as a stepping stone to Odisha’s ambitious journey to emerge as a global energy centre.

Dharmendra Pradhan pointed out that the new projects will not only catalyse growth in the energy sector but also strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Odisha.

The initiatives aim to foster innovation and create abundant opportunities for Odia youth to step into entrepreneurial roles, thereby driving prosperity across the region.

Calling the developments a clear testament to the ‘double-engine government’ approach, the Union Minister expressed optimism about Odisha’s ability to soar to new heights of progress and attract investment from global players.
