Unexpected Intruder: Flying Snake Found in Jeypore Man’s Bathroom

Bhubaneswar, Sep 15: In our day-to-day life, we come across so many things and rare incidents. Finding snakes at home is quite common in mountain areas or even in forest region.
There are even instances where people find snakes inside shoes, bikes, water tanks near plants, balconies. These incidents are mostly reported during rainy season as snakes often enter populated areas in search of food or preys during that period.
A similar kind of incident came to light when a man found a snake in his bathroom. The incident was reported on Monday.
A man, from Goudasahi of Jeypore in Koraput district, spotted the snake in the bathroom. Without delay, he immediately informed the WARTEAM (Wild Animal Rescue Team for Environmental Awareness and Management).

WARTEAM Director Krushna Keshab Sarangi and one of his team members — Chandan Bhimidi Ruben — rushed to the place and identified the snake. It was an Ornate Flying Snake — a species of mildly venomous rear-fanged colubrid snake found in both South Asia and Southeast Asia.
The professional duo rescued the creature before safely releasing it into the nearby forest in the presence of Jeypore Forest Division officials.
