Udala (Mayurbhanj), Sep 1: In a startling revelation, Odisha’s Udala police have exposed a fabricated gangrape case that was allegedly masterminded from inside Baripada jail.
The complaint, filed by a young woman and her mother, claimed that five men gangraped her inside a van in Udala. However, police investigations revealed that the entire incident was scripted to falsely implicate innocent individuals.
The conspiracy was reportedly orchestrated by two inmates — Nana Sae from Kaptipada and Shyam Sundar Rana from Sarat — both serving time in Baripada jail for unrelated cases.

✨Seeking revenge against individuals who had previously filed complaints against them, the duo allegedly used the woman and her mother, who is Shyam Sundar’s sister-in-law, to execute the plan.
According to the police, the woman and her mother gathered detailed information about the targets and fabricated the gangrape narrative. They approached Bangiriposi police with the story, prompting swift action and the detention of two youths. However, inconsistencies in the account and medical reports led investigators to uncover the truth.
Sub-Divisional Police Officer Hrushikesh Nayak confirmed that
the woman admitted to fabricating the complaint before a judicial magistrate.
The medical examination also showed no signs of sexual assault. Legal action is
now being initiated against the woman and her mother for misleading law
enforcement and defaming innocent individuals.
