Two Youths Die As Bike Rams Stationary Truck in Nabarangpur

Nabarangpur, Oct 25: Two youths died after their bike rammed into a stationary truck on the Bharatmala highway in Raighar area in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district on Saturday.

 

The deceased have been identified as Rohit Pujari and Raju Pandey.

 

As per reports, a maize-loaded truck had broken down and remained parked on the highway near Debagaon under Raighar police limits for last three days, without proper warning signs.

 

The incident occurred when the speeding motorcycle rammed into the rear of the stationary truck. The duo reportedly died on the spot.

After getting information, Raighar Police reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident.

 

Raighar Block Chairman Gupta Prasad Jhankar expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in the road accident. He urged all two-wheeler riders to drive cautiously and remain alert, especially on highways where stalled vehicles pose serious risks.

 

Notably, the Raipur–Visakhapatnam Expressway, a flagship infrastructure project under the Bharatmala scheme, is still under construction in several stretches, raising concerns about road safety and signage.
