Bhubaneswar, Apr 15: The two-year-old boy, who was allegedly abducted from the arms of his visually impaired mother near Ram Mandir in Bhubaneswar on April 12, was rescued from Balasore Tuesday.

Police have also arrested the accused involved in the case and further investigation to determine the motive behind the crime is underway.

According to reports, the incident occurred late on Saturday at around 3 am, when the woman, who survives by seeking alms near the temple, was resting with her child near the Ram Mandir. Meanwhile, the accused abducted the child and fled the spot.

Following the incident, the woman lodged a complaint, based on which, police initiated a probe.

During the investigation, CCTV footage played a crucial role in tracing the suspect, showing the abductor carrying the child and entering a railway station.

Based on the CCTV footage, special police teams was formed and raids were conducted across multiple locations, ultimately leading to the rescue.
