Bhubaneswar, Dec 16: The IPL 2026 mini auction is set to take place on Tuesday, with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) adding 19 more players to the auction pool just ahead of the event. The updated list includes two players from Odisha.
The two Odia cricketers included in the IPL auction are Rajesh Mohanty and Swastik Samal. Mohanty, a 25-year-old fast bowler, has a base price of Rs 30 lakh. Swastik Samal, also 25, is a right-handed batter and has been listed with the same base price of Rs 30 lakh. Both players are uncapped.
With the addition of the 19 players, the total number of cricketers in the IPL 2026 auction has risen to 369. Of these, 251 are Indian players, while 118 are overseas cricketers.
A total of 1,390 players had registered for the auction, out of which 350 were initially shortlisted. The latest addition by the BCCI has expanded the final auction list to 369 players.
Across the 10 franchises, teams can fill up to 77 player slots in this auction, including a maximum of 31 overseas players. Kolkata Knight Riders, three-time IPL champions, have the highest number of vacancies, with space for 13 players. Sunrisers Hyderabad, the 2016 IPL champions, can recruit up to 10 players.
In terms of available funds, Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings together have a combined purse exceeding Rs 197 crore. Sunrisers Hyderabad, Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals each have more than Rs 20 crore available for the auction.
