Bhubaneswar, Feb 28: Two persons were killed in two separate road accidents – one in Koraput and the other in Mayurbhanj.
In Koraput, the person, identified as Sindhu Khara, was killed on the spot after his bike collided with a pickup van on National Highway 63 (NH63) near Sasahandi in Borigumma. Sindhu was a native of Kenduguda village in Kundura tehsil.
As per the report, the Sindhu had come to Nuagaon market to buy vegetables Friday morning. However tragedy struck while he was on his way back to home. His bike collided with a pickup van, which was coming from opposite direction, near Sasahandi bridge.
He died at the spot reportedly due to the critical injuries he sustained. Kotpad police arrived at the spot and launched an investigation into the matter.
In another tragic accident, which took place near Telmil on Station Bazar to KC Circle road in Baripada, a vegetable vendor was killed. The deceased has been identified as Babuli Das, a native of Mankadapal area under Shyamakhunta block.
According to the report, he was crossing the road when a speedy truck ran over him. He died on the spot. Baripada Town police arrived at the spot after getting the information. The police took control of the situation and launched an investigation.
