Bhubaneswar, Jan 19: In a tragic incident, two men were killed after a speeding car hit their bike at Raj Bhavan Square in Bhubaneswar, Saturday evening.

The deceased, reportedly brothers, have been identified as Goura Chandra Nayak and Rabi Chandra Nayak, and both of them were retired police officers.

According to police, Rabi was riding the motorcycle, while Goura was seated behind him. The siblings were reportedly going towards AG Square when they were hit by the speeding car, which was coming from Power House Square.

Both the bike and the car jumped on the roundabout due to the impact of the collision, which reduced their two-wheeler to a mangled wreck.

As per reports, Goura was declared received dead in the Capital Hospital, while Rabi was rushed to a private healthcare facility where he succumbed after some time.

Police said the car was being driven by one Lalatendu Barik and he had also hit two other persons travelling on a motorcycle. One of them sustained serious injuries in the accident and is undergoing treatment in a hospital here.

The Police, on the other hand, have seized the car and detained the car driver. Police have been questioning the accused and launched an investigation into the matter.
