Jajpur, May 13: A bomb explosion on National Highway 16 (NH-16) near Chhatia, Jajpur district, led to the tragic death of two individuals, with one person seriously injured. The cause of the deadly blast remains unclear, triggering an extensive police investigation.

At the scene, authorities discovered a Pulsar motorcycle and an electric scooter, both lying wrecked. Reports suggest that the deceased belonged to the Badachana police station area, but their motive and circumstances surrounding the explosion are still uncertain.

Eyewitness accounts indicate that the victims were carrying explosives, which may have accidentally detonated. However, officials have not confirmed why they had the bomb or the intended purpose behind transporting it. The Severely mutilated bodies highlight the intensity of the blast, leading to heightened security concerns in the area.

Local police forces, including Bairi, Badachana, Balichandrapur, and Dharmasala units, have joined the investigation. Top officials such as SDPO and SP, along with a forensic and investigation team, arrived at the scene to conduct deeper inquiries.

While authorities continue their search for definitive answers, residents remain fearful and puzzled about the nature of the explosion. SP’s official response confirmed ongoing investigations, yet no clear leads have been established.
