Sonepur, May 23: At least two persons lost their lives while eight others sustained serious injuries after the vehicle they were travelling in overturned on the Sonepur-Balangir road near Haradkhol.

According to reports, the accident occurred when vehicle carrying approximately 25 passengers was en route from a wedding in Manmunda to Kalahandi. Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle lost control over the wheels and overturned after skidding off the road near Haradkhol.

Following the incident, police along with the rescue team reached the spot and launched a rsecue operation.

While two individuals, whose identities were not ascertained immediately, succumbed to their injuries, eight others with serious injuries were rushed to Sonepur Medical College and Hospital.

Reportedly, Sonepur police have launched an investigation into the incident.
