Balasore, Feb 25: In a tragic road accident, two persons were killed when the car they were travelling in collided head-on with a truck on NH-16 in Odisha’s Balasore district on Sunday.
The deceased persons have been identified as Srikanta Panda and Mayadhar Raj of Soro area in the district.
As per reports, the accident took place on NH-16 near Kuruda bridge under Balasore sadar police limits when the driver of the speeding truck lost control of the vehicle and hit the car head-on.
The injured persons were rescued in a critical condition and taken to a hospital where the doctors declared the duo "dead".
