Two Injured After Miscreants Open Fire In Odisha

Berhampur, Aug 6: Two persons sustained bullet injuries after some miscreants opened fire on them at Shastri Nagar under the jurisdiction of Badabazar police station late last night.
According to reports, some unidentified assailants entered the residence of one Runa Achari and opened fire, targeting both Runa and her brother-in-law Sunil Sahu.
While Runa sustained bullet injuries to her hand and abdomen, Sunil was shot in the stomach.
Soon after the incident, the attackers fled the scene, leaving behind a trail of chaos and fear. On the other hand, the victims were rescued and rushed to MKCG Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
Later, Brahmapur SP Dr. Saravana Vivek M rushed to the hospital and took stock of the situation.
Police have launched a full-scale investigation to identify and apprehend the culprits.
Authorities are also probing possible motives behind the attack, though no official statement has been released yet.
In a similar incident in Khordha, three persons were injured after miscreants fired at them. The incident was reported at Benapanjuri village under Jatni PS.
Reportedly, the injured are undergoing treatment at Khordha DHH.
