Two Hardcore Women Maoists Killed In Encounter Along Odisha–Chhattisgarh Border

Malkangiri, June 26: Two hardcore women Maoists were killed in an intense exchange of fire between security forces and Maoist insurgents in the dense Abujhmad forests along the Odisha–Chhattisgarh border.

According to reports, the encounter took place near Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh, adjacent to Odisha’s Malkangiri district.

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, security personnel from the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Special Task Force (STF) carried a combing operation. During this, the Maoists opened fire, prompting retaliatory action from the forces.

The encounter resulted in the neutralization of two senior female cadres.

Additionally, security personnel recovered a cache of arms and explosives from the site, including-- One INSAS rifle, and one .303 rifle. Besides, a large quantity of Maoist explosive materials were also seized from the site.

Reportedly, the area has been cordoned off as search and combing operations is underway.

This operation is seen as a significant success in the ongoing efforts to dismantle Maoist strongholds in the region.
