Bhubaneswar, Apr 18: A sudden change in weather has been observed as dark clouds cover the Twin City skies. The influence of Kalabaisakhi has led to thunderstorms and heavy rainfall in various parts of the state, including Bhubaneswar. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for the next three hours due to intense rainfall. A rain alert has been issued for Bhubaneswar, Khordha, Cuttack, and Dhenkanal districts.

According to weather predictions, Kalbaisakhi showers are expected to continue across the state for the next four days. Thunderstorms, lightning, and rainfall are likely to persist, until April 21.

As many as 15 districts, including Balasore, Bhadrak, and Mayurbhanj, are expected to experience heavy rain with wind speeds ranging from 40 to 50 kilometers per hour. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for Malkangiri and Koraput.

The daytime temperatures are likely to remain stable for the next three days. Consequently, temperatures may rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius. Districts like Sundargarh, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Rayagada, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Keonjhar, Balasore, Cuttack, Angul, and Koraput are expected to witness thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds between 40 to 50 km/h.
