Keonjhar, Aug 14: A major mishap was averted after a truck caught fire midway near Poijamula Chhak under Ghatagaon police limits in Keonjhar district.

Fortunately, the driver of the vehicle escaped unhurt.

According to reports, the incident occurred while the truck was in motion, prompting the driver to quickly stop and exit the vehicle to ensure his safety. The fire began unexpectedly and gradually engulfed the truck.

On being informed, fire service personnel reached the spot and launched an operation to douse the flames. While there were no injuries reported, properties worth lakhs were reduced to ashes.

While the exact cause was not known immediately, preliminary investigations suggest that the fire may have been triggered by an electrical short circuit.
