Bhubaneswar, Aug 8: The Odisha government has allocated Rs 10 lakh to each district to ensure the effective implementation of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, Minister for Odia Language, Literature and Culture Suryabanshi Suraj said on Saturday.
The campaign will be observed across the state from August 9 to 17 under the aegis of the Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department.
State-Level Tiranga Rally on August 9
A state-level Tiranga Rally will be held in Bhubaneswar on August 9 by the Sports and Youth Services Department with support from other government departments. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is scheduled to attend.
The rally will begin at Hatiasuni Ground and proceed towards Lumbini Vihar Road. Government officials, youth groups, voluntary organisations, sportspersons, students, and NCC and NSS volunteers are expected to participate.
Similar rallies will be organised at the district level.
60 Lakh Flags Being Prepared
As part of the campaign, 60 lakh national flags are being prepared by women Self-Help Groups under the Mission Shakti Department for distribution across the state.
As of noon on August 8, around 45.40 lakh flags had been prepared, officials said.
To support the initiative, the Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department has sanctioned Rs 15 crore to the Mission Shakti Department.
Partition Horrors Remembrance Day
On August 14, the Odisha Sahitya Akademi will organise a state-level programme to observe Partition Horrors Remembrance Day. Similar programmes will be held across districts.
The events will feature a photo exhibition, short film screenings and a theatrical presentation highlighting the impact of Partition. Families affected by Partition will be invited to share their experiences and will be felicitated, followed by a silent candle march.
Independence Day Programmes
The Information and Public Relations Department will organise the state's Independence Day celebrations on August 15.
The Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi will present a patriotic musical programme, ‘Bharatiyam,’ at Rabindra Mandap in Bhubaneswar. A special concert will also be organised to mark the 150th anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram.’
The celebrations will also include sand art displays, a large-scale rangoli exhibition and ‘Selfie with Tiranga’ booths.

During the campaign, citizens will be able to upload selfies with the national flag on the official ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ website and download digital certificates. An online quiz will also be conducted through the MyGov portal.
Describing the Tiranga as "a symbol of our identity and pride", Suryabanshi Suraj urged private institutions, NGOs and citizens to participate actively in the campaign.
Senior officials, including Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department Secretary Bijay Ketan Upadhyay, Odisha Sahitya Akademi Secretary Chandra Sekhar Hota and Deputy Director Devjani Bhuyan, attended the press briefing.
