Malkanagiri, Jan 7: Trial run of a flight on Malkanagiri airport runway was conducted under the UDAN 5.0 (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) scheme of the Union government today. 

The UDAN 5.0 scheme was intended to connect tourist, pilgrimage and other destinations of national interest throughout the country. 

Flights were also announced to start from Baripada, Konark, Hirakud besides Malkanagiri under the UDAN scheme.  

Construction of runway and other utilities have been completed at the Malkanagiri airport. The workers of Airport Authority of India supervised the trial run today.
