Sundargarh, Aug 26: A tragic incident unfolded at Sundargarh Medical College on Monday when a patient reportedly died by suicide after jumping from the third floor of the hospital building.

The deceased, identified as a resident of Rajpur area under Sundargarh Sadar police limits, had been admitted to the hospital on Sunday.

According to preliminary reports, the patient was undergoing treatment but was suspected to be suffering from mental health issues. Hospital staff confirmed that the individual had shown signs of psychological distress during admission. However, the exact cause behind the suicide remains unclear.

Eyewitnesses stated that the patient accessed the rooftop of the third floor and jumped, leading to fatal injuries. The incident has sent shockwaves across the medical campus.
