Bhawanipatna, Sep 4: In a heroic act, a tractor driver named Damu Muduli rescued two minor girls and a woman from being swept away by a sudden flash flood in Odisha’s Kalahandi district on Thursday.
The incident reportedly occurred near the Chandigiri stream
under Thuamul Rampur block, following intense rainfall in the region.
As per reports, the three individuals had taken shelter under a bridge near
Adri village to escape the downpour while working nearby. However, a surge of
water from upstream caught them off guard, pulling them into the fast-moving
current. Their desperate cries for help were heard by Muduli, who happened to
be passing by on his tractor.

✨Without hesitation, Muduli rushed to the scene and launched a rescue operation with the help of local villagers. Braving the dangerous waters, they managed to pull all three victims to safety. The timely intervention prevented what could have been a tragic loss of life.
Videos of the rescue operation have been shared widely on
social media, highlighting the dangers posed by flash floods in Odisha’s hilly
terrain during the monsoon season.
