Rayagada, Jul 17: A worker, engaged in the repair work of the railway track, was killed after being hit by a speeding train at Rayagada Railway Station.

The deceased has been identified as Debarshi Kishan.

According to reports, the tragic accident occurred at Platform No. 4 of Rayagada Railway Station when Kishan along with two others were engaged in repair work of the railway track. Meanwhile, a train unexpectedly struck their trolley.

Following the incident, Kishan died on the spot while two others were immediately rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital.

This incident has raised serious questions about trackside safety protocols and communication between maintenance crews and train operations.

Authorities are expected to launch an inquiry to determine the cause. Further details are awaited.
