Jajpur, Jul 19: A disturbing incident has emerged from a residential School in Talagadia, under Korei block of Jajpur district, where three minor students reportedly fled the campus to escape alleged physical abuse by senior students.

According to reports, the matter came to fore after the students, who escaped from the school after scaling the boundary wall, were rescued by some locals, who then alerted the police about the same.

Korei police reached the spot and rescued the minors. The students were then taken to the police station for safety and initial inquiry.

During this, the students revealed that the abuse had become unbearable, prompting their escape attempt.

Taking note of the incident, police summoned school authorities and the children’s guardians for questioning.
The students were then handed over to the District Child Welfare Committee and later transferred to a child care home for protection.

Further probe into the incident is underway.
