Bhubaneswar, Apr 12: Odisha braces for another week of summer storms as the meteorological department forecasts a continuation of Kalbaisakhi rainfall in several districts.
Coastal areas like Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Balasore, Cuttack, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Rayagada, Koraput, Gajapati, Puri, and Khordha have been issued yellow warnings for thunderstorms accompanied by moderate rainfall and winds ranging from 30 to 60 km/h.
The department anticipates rainfall to intensify by April 14, particularly in Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts, which have been warned of heavy showers.
Sundargarh, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, and Jagatsinghpur may experience moderate rains during this period.
The temperature remains steady across the state, with Balangir recording the highest temperature at 40.4°C. Udayagiri in Gajapati district witnessed the highest rainfall in the last 24 hours, measuring 22.4 mm.
