Cuttack, Apr 12: A domestic dispute in Odisha takes a tragic turn as a three-year-old daughter sustained serious injuries during a violent altercation between her parents.

The incident occurred when one Banka Nidhi Panda, of Purunapani village under Baideswar police limits in Cuttack district, attacked his wife with a sharp weapon.

According to reports, the couple used to have frequent altercations and on Saturday too, Banka came Home and picked up an argument with his wife. The argument took an ugly turn as Banka attacked his wife with a sharp weapon. Meanwhile, their three-year-daughter, who was present during the time of incident, was injured after the weapon inadvertently fell on her.

Following this, the toddler suffered injuries to her head and was rushed to Kalapathar hospital for treatment.

Later, police reached the spot and both the mother-daughter duo was taken into custody for further inquiry.

Reportedly, a case has been registered against the accused Banka Nidhi and a probe is underway.
