Berhampur, Aug 26: At least three women lost their lives after being struck by lightning in two separate incidents in Berhampur on Tuesday.
The first incident was reported from Sarabhimapur village.
According to reports, the victims, a woman and her sister-in-law were busy working in a paddy field when lightning struck them. As a result, they died on the spot.
In a separate incident in Raulibandha, another woman met the same fate while engaged in agricultural work.
The sudden lightning strikes have left the community in shock.
On the other hand, officials have urged residents to remain cautious during unpredictable weather conditions and avoid open fields during thunderstorms.
