Bargarh, June 18: In a terrific human-animal conflict, as many as three persons were trampled to death by an elephant in a village in Bargarh district early this morning. 

The shocking incident occurred in Saladihi village under Jharbandh police station limits in Bargarh district. 

According to the information, three elephants entered the area yesterday and were seen moving there by evening. Villagers were sleeping in the night when an elephant entered the village and attacked three members of a family- two children and their mother.

They were sleeping in their houseyard when the jumbo trampled them to death. 

On being informed, forest officials reached the spot and started an investigation. 

The incident has shocked the locals.
