Kantabanji, Sep 5: Three students of a government primary school, in Bohuma village under Kismat Krishnapur Panchayat in Balangir, sustained injuries after plaster of the school roof collapsed on the students.

According to reports, the incident occurred when the students had gathered for the celebrations of Teachers' Day this morning.

Meanwhile, plaster of the roof fell on them, injuring three.

Among the injured are two Anganwadi children and a Class III student, identified as Srabani Kala.

All three were immediately rescued and rushed to Basudevpur Medical Center for treatment.

The school was reportedly been operating from a dilapidated building for several years. Despite repeated complaints from villagers and parents, no action had been taken by the concerned department to repair or replace the unsafe structure.

Local residents expressed anger and frustration, blaming administrative negligence for the incident.

An official inquiry into the collapse is expected, and the condition of the injured students is being closely monitored at the medical facility.
