Missing Case / Three Minors Missing in Bhubaneswar, Police Intensify Search

Bhubaneswar, Sep 28: Panic has gripped the capital after three minors went missing while on their way to tuition classes. Despite two days having passed, the children remain untraceable, prompting an intensive search operation by Chandrasekharpur police.

Following a complaint lodged by the families, police formed three special teams and began combing operations across Chandrasekharpur, Patharagadia, and the railway station areas.

DCP is personally monitoring the investigation, with CCTV footage from nearby localities being scrutinized to track the children’s movements.

Parents, along with residents of Sitanath and Adarsh Basti, have joined the search, scouring neighbourhoods since early morning. The absence of mobile phones with the minors has made the operation particularly challenging.

Police have questioned tuition teachers, friends, and family members to reconstruct the last known whereabouts of the children.

The emotional toll has been heavy, with mothers breaking down in tears as the search continues. Local residents have gathered in large numbers, reflecting the community’s concern. Police have assured families that every effort is being made to recover the children safely and soon.

The incident comes against the backdrop of alarming figures on missing persons in Odisha. In the last two years, 45,796 women and 20,528 children were reported missing. Of these, 30,171 women and 15,976 children were rescued.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi recently presented these figures in the Assembly, highlighting the scale of the challenge.
