Umerkote, May 22: Police in Umerkote rescued three minor girls and arrested two persons on charges of alleged human trafficking during a routine vehicle check near Siunaguda Chhak, a source said Friday.
The accused were identified as Tulashiram Panka and M Suresh. Police said the duo was allegedly taking the girls to Tiruppur in Tamil Nadu to engage them in hazardous labour.
According to police, a Maruti Suzuki Ertiga car was intercepted during naka checking near Siunaguda Chhak under Umerkote police station limits. During verification, police found three minor girls travelling in the vehicle.
Subsequent investigation revealed that the girls were allegedly being trafficked to Tiruppur for work, following which police rescued them and detained the two accused.
A case was registered, and the accused were booked under various sections before being produced in court.
Police also seized the vehicle and two Android mobile phones from the accused.
The rescued minors underwent medical examination and were later handed over to their respective families, police said.

WhatsApp Sex Racket Busted
In a major crackdown, police busted an alleged sex racket operating from the Sai Vihar area in Jatani and arrested seven persons, including two alleged kingpins, on Wednesday.
Police also rescued four young women during the raid conducted following specific intelligence inputs about suspicious activities in the area.
The two alleged masterminds of the racket have been identified as Prabhati Swain and D. Gouri. According to investigators, the duo had allegedly been running the illegal operation from Sai Vihar for a considerable period.
