Ganjam, Mar 18: At least three persons, including a father-son duo were killed while four others sustained injuries after a clash between two groups over witchcraft allegations. The incident occurred at Kharipalli village under Badagada police limits under Dharakote block in Ganjam districts.
The deceased were identified as Khadala Behera, Ratnakara Behera, and Ramesh Behera.
According to reports, three years ago, villagers had exiled Khadala and his son Ratnakara from the village on suspicion of witchcraft. Due to this, there was a rift between the father-son duo and the villagers. However, the situation turned ugly after Khadala and his son Ratnakara entered into an argument with the villagers.
The clash between the father-son duo and the villagers escalated to such an extent that the villagers attacked the father and son.
While Khadala and his son Ratnakara died on the spot, Ramesh who sustained serious injuries, succumbed while undergoing treatment at Dhakota Medical. Besides, four others sustained serious injuries in the attack.
