Puri, Aug 5: In a concerning breach of temple security, a devotee from West Bengal was detained at the west gate of Puri Shreemandir for allegedly attempting to enter the sacred premises with a hidden camera embedded in his spectacles.
The individual, identified as Bipul Pal, was intercepted by temple security personnel during routine checks. Upon inspection, authorities discovered a miniature recording device concealed within his eyewear, raising suspicions of unauthorized filming inside the temple — a strict violation of Shreemandir’s security protocols and religious sanctity.
Pal was immediately handed over to the Singhadwar police station, where he remains in custody for further interrogation.
This incident marks the third such case within the past 10 days, prompting heightened concern among temple authorities and devotees.
