Bhubaneswar, Jun 10: A violent clash broke out inside the Infocity Police Station in Bhubaneswar, leading to chaos and destruction.

The incident occurred when angry villagers from Patharagadia stormed the station, demanding justice in a fraud case. The confrontation resulted in physical altercations between police and the public, with reports of furniture being damaged and a woman sustaining injuries.

The Cause of the Clash

The unrest stemmed from the arrest of a fraud accused, who had allegedly cheated multiple villagers out of large sums of money. As police prepared to forward the accused to court, enraged locals blocked roads, demanding immediate refunds of their lost money instead of legal proceedings.

Violence Inside the Police Station

The situation escalated when protesters forcibly entered the police station, leading to heated arguments and physical confrontations.

Reports indicate that chairs were broken, and an Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) was attacked during the chaos. The police and protesters engaged in a scuffle, resulting in injuries to a woman and several officers.

The police assured villagers that a thorough investigation would be conducted and urged them to maintain peace.
