Bhubaneswar, Apr 11: Daytime temperature is likely to increase by 6 to 8 degree Celsius in Odisha from tomorrow. 

Though light rainfall is likely to occur in the south and north interior parts and extreme northern regions of the State, overall weather of the State will remain cloudy in the next 24 hours. 

By the impact of rain occurred at different places, the daytime temperature decreased by three to four degrees Celsius yesterday. However, mercury is likely to soar from tomorrow. Daytime temperature in Bhubaneswar may cross 40 degrees Celsius on April 16 and 17, said weather scientist Umashankar Das.

In the last 24 hours, the highest rainfall of 57 MM was recorded at Jharibandha in Bargarh district. Rain continued to fall in some parts including Balangir, Sonepur, Nuapada, and Kandhamal.
