Bhubaneswar, Mar 18: In a comforting development, the temperature has been predicted to go down in a couple of days in Odisha with the possibility of Kalbaisakhi looms.

According the prediction of the Meteorological Department, there is a likelihood of the formation of a low-pressure in the upper atmosphere. With a high-pressure zone over the Bay of Bengal moving towards the Odisha coast, humid air is expected to enter into the state in significant amounts.

As a result, a change in temperature is anticipated in two days. The weather will take a turn, bringing relief with Kalbaisakhi – a seasonal thunderstorm – rains, which will drench the entire Odisha region.

The Kalbaisakhi-influenced rain is likely to persist across the state from March 20 to March 22. After over a week of a continuing heatwave, Kalbaisakhi rains will provide a definite relief to the people.

The heat, on the other hand, will intensify for another two days, with no respite from the scorching temperatures. An orange alert has been issued for heatwaves in certain locations in Boudh and Jharsuguda, Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the regional meteorological centre has issued yellow warnings for four districts. The western parts of Odisha will experience intense heat. Moreover, an orange alert has been issued for Boudh district for March 20, and yellow warnings have been issued for Balangir and Jharsuguda on the same day.
