Sambalpur, Apr 27: BJD leaders Motilal Tanty and his wife Er. Reena Tanty joined the Bharatiya Janata Party at a programme held here today.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Leader of Opposition Jayanarayan Mishra welcomed the Tanty couple to the party by offering each of them a shawl and a cap. Earlier in the day, the couple had resigned from the primary membership of the BJD. They had sent their resignation letters to the BJD Supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Er. Reena Tanty had unsuccessfully contested on a BJD ticket from the Rengali Assembly constituency in Sambalpur district.
