Sundargarh: Tahasil Official In Vigilance Net For Taking Bribe

Sundargarh, Mar 26: The officials of Odisha Vigilance Department Wednesday nabbed an official of Kutra Tahasil Office, in Sundargarh's Rourkela, while accepting bribe of Rs 6000.
The accused, Sisir Kumar Naik, posted as an Amin at Kutra Tahasil office, had demanded Rs 10,000 from one Bisram Oram to prepare a sketch map for partition of ROR( PATTA) of the complainant and his other brothers as per the order of the Court.
Following this, Bisram lodged a complaint with the Vigilance department.
Subsequently, a case was registered and the anti-corruption wing laid a trap. During the operation, Sisir was apprehended red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 6000.
While Sisir have been taken into custody, the anti-corruption wing has launched simultaneous searches at the office and residential house in Sundargarh linked to Sisir.
Confirming the development, the Odisha Vigilance Department took to its X handle and wrote: "Today, Sri Sisir Kumar Naik, Amin, Kutra Tahasil, #Sundargarh has been apprehended by #Odisha #Vigilance while taking bribe of Rs. 6,000/- from a Complt to prepare sketch map for partition of ROR( PATTA) of the Complt. & his other brothers as per the order of the competent Court."
"In this connection, Rourkela Vigilance PS Case No. 05 dt.25.03.2025, U/s 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress," the post reads further.
