Bhubaneswar, Mar 19: Over one lakh women have been deprived of receiving their second instalment of Subhadra Yojana, informed Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida Wednesday.

Addressing the issue, the Deputy CM informed that many women, who had received the first instalment, returned their ration cards after their financial status improved when the second instalment was introduced. This has caused inconvenience for over one lakh women across the state.

Cases have emerged where individuals purchased vehicles or provided higher-than-expected paddy yields to mandis, leading to their exclusion from the scheme, the Deputy CM added.

She further stated that this challenge has raised questions about the beneficiary selection process. Consequently, the review for one lakh women is underway. During Raksha Bandhan, the eligible beneficiaries will receive their instalment.

Notably, the state government had extended the application deadline until March 31. Additionally, women turning 21 will have the opportunity to apply for the scheme.

For those who remain deprived, a one-to-one survey will be conducted after March 31 to identify the reasons and resolve the issues, the Deputy CM added.
