Bhubaneswar, Apr 19: In a major announcement, Odisha's Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida has declared that the long-awaited financial aid under the Subhadra Yojana will be disbursed on Panchayati Raj Divas, April 24.

The event is set to take place at a special programme in Puri, where the Odisha government will distribute funds to beneficiaries under the scheme.

The Subhadra Yojana aims to empower women across the state by providing financial support. More than 1,70,000 women will receive monetary assistance. Each beneficiary will receive ₹10,000 – two instalments of ₹5,000 each – in a single go, as per the government's plan.

Women who submitted their applications under the scheme by March 31 are eligible to receive this financial aid. The government has allocated significant resources to ensure the smooth execution of the scheme during its sixth phase.

This initiative underlines the Odisha government's commitment to women's economic upliftment and marks a significant step toward addressing gender equity. The monetary support under the flagship scheme of the Odisha government seeks to bring some relief and improve the financial independence of women across the state.

As the countdown begins for Panchayati Raj Divas, the Subhadra Yojana's sixth phase promises to bring cheer to thousands of women in Odisha, furthering the vision of social and economic empowerment.
