Bhubaneswar, Jan 21: The Odisha government has announced that financial assistance under the Subhadra Yojana will be credited to beneficiaries’ bank accounts on Thursday. A total of 4,57,681 women will receive the funds, marking a significant expansion of the scheme.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida confirmed that 1,78,398 newly registered women have been included this time and will receive their first installment. Additionally, 2,55,265 women who missed out on the first and second installments due to technical issues will now be compensated, receiving both installments together.
Earlier, during grievance hearings, 24,018 beneficiaries
were added to the scheme, ensuring that those previously excluded are also
covered. In total, ₹250 crore will be disbursed directly into bank accounts in
this round.

The Subhadra Yojana, considered one of the state’s flagship welfare initiatives, aims to provide ₹10,000 annually to women beneficiaries. So far, three installments have been released by the government. However, due to various reasons, some women were left out in earlier phases. The latest announcement ensures that both new registrants and previously excluded beneficiaries will receive their rightful assistance.

According to official data, this round covers 1,78,398 new beneficiaries and nearly 2,80,000 women who had applied but were left out earlier. Together, they form part of the 4,57,681 women who will benefit from the scheme this time.
Deputy CM Parida emphasized that the government remains committed to inclusive development and ensuring that no eligible woman is left behind. She noted that the Subhadra Yojana is not just financial support but also a step toward empowering women and strengthening household economies across the state.
The announcement has brought cheer to thousands of families,
especially those who had been anxiously waiting for their inclusion.
