Bhubaneswar, Mar 26: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan expressed happiness as the number of women getting monetary support under the Odisha government's flagship 'Subhadra' scheme crossed the 1-core mark.

"To empower women and make them self-dependent, Subhadra Yojana is being implemented in Odisha. It is a matter of delight that the number of beneficiaries has crossed the 1-crore mark," said Pradhan.

Posting a video on his 'X' account, Pradhan mentioned that the Subhadra scheme is being implemented in Odisha to empower women and make them self-dependent.

He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, and Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida for the scheme. He contended that Odia Asmita would be strengthened only when women's power is risen.

"The Subhadra Yojana is one of the flagship schemes of the Prime Minister. Today, in the fifth phase of the first installment of the 'Subhadra Yojana', financial assistance of Rs 115 crore was given to more than 2.30 lakh mothers and sisters through video conferencing. The state government has so far provided assistance of more than Rs 5,000 crore to more than 1 crore beneficiaries under the scheme. Under this scheme, our mothers will get Rs 50,000 in installments over the next five years," said Pradhan.

Pradhan said that the Subhadra Yojana is a great symbol of women empowerment and boosting the morale of our mothers and sisters.
