Subarnapur DHH Doctor Arrested Taking Bribe Of Rs 5,500

Subarnapur, Nov 27: Vigilance officers caught a doctor red-handed while taking a bribe from a patient to conduct an eye operation in Subarnapur District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) this morning.
According to information, officials arrested Dr. Sanjib Kumar Kar, an Ophthalmologist when he demanded and accepted Rs 5,500 from a cataract patient.
The patient, Lakshman Tripathy of Jaloi village, had earlier informed Vigilance about the doctor's bribe demand.

After arresting the doctor, Vigilance sleuths conducted searches in Kar's houses in the Sudapada area in Balangir district and his government quarters at Sonpur in order to detect assets possessed by him and his family members.
