Sambalpur, Feb 24: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday inaugurated a computer lab at the Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Siddheswarberna in Tangarpali area in Sambalpur district today.

The Union Minister said the computer lab will connect students with digital technology and keep them updated with news. The lab has been installed at Rs 15 lakh provided by the State Bank of India under its Cooperate Social Responsibility programme.

"The computer lab has come up in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visionary National Education Policy. The Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir, run by Vidya Bharati, has played a big role in enriching education in Odisha. At a time when efforts are being made to restore the Indian education system and Indian values in the National Education Policy, the students of Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir will make it a success and will be part of the developed India," Pradhan asserted.

Pradhan said that the National Education Policy has been formulated for the holistic development of students. The main objective of the education policy is to connect the new generation on the basis of Indianness, to promote Indian languages and to provide quality education and employment.

Similarly, Atal Tinkering Labs are being set up in various schools to promote scientific temperament among school students, he said.
