Guru Diwas / Students of Dhauli College of Art and Crafts Mark Teachers' Day With Painting And Sculpture Camp

Bhubaneswar, Sep 5: Students of Dhauli College of Art and Crafts near Dhauli Shanti Stupa marked Teachers' Day with a painting and sculpture camp, paying tribute to their teachers through art.

College principal and artist Dr Panchanan Samal, Vice Principal Chandan Kumar Samal, Professor Bhupati Bhushan Panda and Subash Chandra Muduli inaugurated the camp by lighting a lamp. The students later performed 'Guru Poojan' and paid homage to their teachers.

Students Portray Significance Of 'Guru'
During the camp, students created paintings and sculptures centred on the significance of 'Guru', the role of teachers in Indian culture, their contribution to society and the importance of Guru Diwas (Teachers' Day).

The artworks highlighted the influence of teachers in shaping students and society. The guests appreciated the students’ creations and said that students working under the guidance of their gurus can achieve success.

Laxmidhar Swain, Basant Pradhan and Prafulla Pradhan were also present on the occasion. They encouraged the students and reviewed their artworks.

College Established In 1994
Dhauli College of Art and Crafts was established in 1994 with the objective of providing art education up to degree level.

The college has permanent affiliation with Utkal University of Culture. Its permanent campus is located at the foothills of the historic Dhauli monuments and Shanti Stupa, providing an artistic setting for students.

The institution has 15 experienced lecturers in different subjects and studio facilities where students can work on their artworks.

It has got 60 seats approved by Utkal University of Culture, Bhubaneswar. It is administered by an Executive Body consisting of reputed artists, educationists with Principal and staff members.
