Bhadrak, Jul 11: Tensions flared in Basudevpur area in Bhadrak district on Friday as residents and students staged a protest and demanded immediate resolution to the trasfer of a teacher.

According to reports, currently the school operates with only two teachers for 120 students. Despite repeated appeals to the Block Education Officer (BEO), no additional staff were appointed and rather a teacher was trasferred. Following this, students of Karanjadia High School locked the gate and sat in dharna outside the school premises, holding placards.

The sudents further threatened to continue the protest until their demands are met, including the appointment of more teachers and improved infrastructure.

Acting swiftly over the matter, officials have assured that the matter will be taken up on priority and a field report is being compiled to address grievances.
